GRADUATING SENIORS: Important End of School Year Dates to Remember

As we are nearing the end of the school year, there are numerous events that will directly affect parents and students. The schedule will be as follows for graduating seniors:
|Wednesday, May 16th||Senior Awards Night||6:30 p.m. (SMS Auditorium)|
|Friday-Tuesday, May 18-22||Senior Exams (SHS students only)||All day|
|Wednesday, May 23rd||Senior Breakfast||9:30 a.m. (Dismissal to follow)|
|Thursday, May 24th||Commencement Practice||1 p.m.|
|Friday, May 25th||Cedar Point Senior Trip||7:30 a.m. (Depart SHS)|
|Sunday, May 27th||Commencement||2 p.m.|
**The doors for commencement will open at 1 p.m. for seating. There will be handicap seating available for those needing it.
Senior Breakfast will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd at 9:30 a.m. in the high school cafeteria. All students are to report to the school at normal time on this day. Seniors will be turning in last minute items and will be cleaning out their lockers before reporting to breakfast. Students will be dismissed from school at the conclusion of the breakfast around 10:15 a.m.
Commencement Practice will take place on Thursday, May 24th at 1 p.m. in the fieldhouse. Students are required to be at commencement practice in order to participate in the graduation ceremony, unless prior arrangements have been made with the high school administration. Students will meet in the fieldhouse at 1 p.m. to go through commencement procedures, and will receive their caps and gowns at the conclusion of practice. All outstanding debts and fees must be paid by commencement practice to receive caps and gowns. MCCTC students will need to report to the high school office on Friday, May 18th to receive their cap and gown for their awards ceremony.
Commencement will occur on Sunday, May 27th at 2 p.m. in the fieldhouse. Seniors are to be at the high school no later than 1:20 p.m. and should report to the cafeteria. Students must be in dress code to participate in commencement with specific requirements listed in the parent letter sent home. All spectators wishing to see the commencement exercises should be seated in the fieldhouse no later than 1:45 p.m. The doors will be locked at 1:50 p.m. to allow seniors to proceed to the ceremony. Whereas commencement is a solemn event, those attending should wear appropriate attire.
