SHS Physics Class Awarded NINE Trophies at YSU Penguin Regatta

The Struthers High School Physics students in Ronald Lesko’s class recently competed as two teams in the annual YSU Penguin Regatta, where they were awarded at total of 9 trophies.

Lesko’s students were tasked to work together as teams to build a boat to compete with in the annual regatta. Lesko said, “I set numerous requirements for my students that their boats had to meet, such a every student in class had to fit in their boat. This project was a challenge but their hard work definitely paid off.”

Their boats were awarded the top two trophies in 4 out of 5 of the following categories:
Show Boat Race: 1st and 2nd place
Dotted Line Race: 1st and 3rd place
Greatest Weight Boat: tied for 2nd place
Presentation: 1st and 2nd place
Journals: 1st and 2nd place

The entire Struthers High School staff would like congratulate all of the team members and Mr. Lesko for a job well done.
