ATTENTION SHS PARENTS:
This spring your son or daughter will be taking end-of-course exams that measure whether students will be ready for college or a position in the workforce. These exams replaced the OGTs and are a requirement for graduation.
Students who take high school English Language Arts I and II, Algebra I, Geometry (or Integrated Mathematics I and II), Biology, American History and American Government will take end-of-course exams in these subjects. To avoid double testing, students participating in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or College Credit Plus programs in Biology, American history and American government may take the corresponding tests instead of Ohio’s end-of-course exams in these subjects.
Please reference our Testing Schedule webpage for the complete list of dates and corresponding subjects in the End of Course Testing Chart. SHS will be using a modified block schedule for the testing windows which will be provided to the students, and can be downloaded here.
Parents can help the process by recommending proper sleep, a good diet, and simply encouraging students to do their very best. Please help to alleviate their anxiety by letting them know they are prepared for the exams.
If you have questions regarding testing or the schedule, please contact Principal Roger Day (330) 750-1062, ext. 41312, or a school guidance counselor.
